Faye Dowling is a British curator and editor specialising in photography and contemporary visual arts.

In 2022 her exhibition ‘Unfolding Landscapes: Landscape and Poetics in Contemporary Ukrainian Art’ was supported by the European Emergency Action Fund (EEAS) to tour from Silkeborg Foundation, Denmark, to Museum of Art & History, Brussels, and Kunst (Zeug) Haus, Switzerland.

In 2020 Faye curated ‘LESS Festival of Contemporary Collage Art’ in Viborg, Denmark, featuring collage artists such as Penny Slinger and Nico Krijno. Faye is currently co-curating LESS Festival of Collage Triennial which will open at Skovgaard Museum, Viborg, Denmark, in October 2024, headlined by artists Katrien De Blauwer and Kensuke Koike.

Faye‘s arts initiative ‘Goth Shop’ launched at the Old Truman Brewery in London in December 2019, featuring over forty alternative artists, and subsequently online at GothShop.co. In 2022 Goth Shop was invited to curate a special art shop for 'The Horror Show! A Twisted Tale of Modern Britain at Somerset House (26.10.22– 19.02.23) which featured bespoke art editions, publications and independent British fashion designers.

In 2022 Faye also edited ‘The Horror Show!’ exhibition catalogue, designed by Barnbrook, featuring over 100 British artists. Faye is the author of visual culture titles The Book of Black (2017) and The Book of Skulls (2011) (Laurence King/Chronicle) which have sold over 80,000 copies worldwide and include editions in German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. She also runs Derek Ridgers Editions, an archive limited edition print sales for the celebrated British photographer Derek Ridgers.

Faye studied Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art, London. She learnt about photography, design and visual culture working as a photography editor and art buyer at magazines and agencies such as Dazed & Confused, Winkreative, Eye and Pictured. Faye is an Associate Lecturer on MA Fashion Photography at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts, London.

Since 2024 Faye is studying History of Art at University of Arizona School of Art, Tucson, where she is beginning her thesis on American photography and the psychic landscape of the Southern states.
